Sensō-ji, an ancient Buddhist temple situated in Asakusa, is not only Tokyo's oldest temple but also one of its most significant. Dedicated to Kannon, the bodhisattva of compassion, it attracts over 30 million visitors annually, making it a prominent spiritual and cultural landmark. The temple complex includes a main hall, a five-story pagoda, and large gates, such as the iconic Kaminarimon. Despite being destroyed during World War II, Sensō-ji was rebuilt and continues to be a symbol of rebirth and peace for many.
