worms synagogue

The Worms Synagogue, steeped in history and cultural significance, stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Jewish communities in Germany. Founded in the 11th century, it is one of the oldest synagogues in the country and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2021. The synagogue has witnessed numerous reconstructions, notably after the First Crusade and Kristallnacht, and was most recently restored in 1961 using original stones where possible. Today, it serves both as a place of worship and a museum, symbolizing resilience and the preservation of history.
