white city

The "White City" refers to a remarkable ensemble of over 4,000 buildings in Tel Aviv, constructed in the Bauhaus or International Style. This architectural treasure trove was largely built in the 1930s by Jewish architects who emigrated from Germany during the Nazi regime. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site, the White City is celebrated for its adaptation of modernist architecture to the local context, integrating the movement's functionalist principles with the cultural and climatic conditions of Tel Aviv.
