The Tripitaka Koreana, housed at the Haeinsa Temple in South Gyeongsang Province, is a remarkable Korean collection of the Buddhist scriptures known as the Tripiṭaka. Carved onto 81,258 wooden printing blocks in the 13th century, it represents the most comprehensive and oldest intact version of the Buddhist canon in Hanja script, with over 52 million characters spanning 6,568 books. This national treasure of South Korea was inscribed in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2007, reflecting its significant cultural and historical value.
