tamaudun

Tamaudun is a significant historical site in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, known as one of the three royal mausoleums of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Constructed in 1501 by King Shō Shin, it serves as the final resting place for Ryukyuan royalty, including 17 of the 19 kings of the Second Shō Dynasty. The mausoleum's structure, which mirrors the architectural style of the royal palace, suffered damage during World War II but has since been restored and was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000.
