The Sun Yat-sen or Zhongshan Memorial Hall is a notable landmark in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. This octagonal building was designed by the architect Lu Yanzhi and its construction was completed in 1931. It was built to honor Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of the Republic of China. The hall is not only a memorial but also serves as a cultural venue, hosting various events and performances. Its design without internal pillars allows for an unobstructed view for up to 3,240 people seated within the auditorium.
