shilin stone forest

The Shilin Stone Forest in Yunnan, China, is a spectacular example of karst topography. Formed from the erosion of limestone over millions of years, this natural wonder features an array of towering stone pillars and intricate formations that resemble a forest made of stone. The area was once submerged under an ancient sea, and the receding waters, along with the forces of wind and chemical weathering, sculpted the limestone into the breathtaking landscape we see today.
