schloss neuschwanstein
Neuschwanstein Castle, often known as the fairytale castle, was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as a homage to Richard Wagner, the King's inspiring muse. Although Ludwig II intended it to be a private residence, the castle was opened to the public shortly after his death in 1886. Today, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Germany, attracting millions of visitors each year who are drawn to its romantic architecture and picturesque mountain setting. Neuschwanstein's design has also inspired the creation of Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, making it a cultural icon recognized around the world.
