The Rock Drawings in Valcamonica, nestled in the Italian Alps, represent one of the most significant collections of prehistoric petroglyphs globally. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, this extensive gallery of ancient art spans an area of over 432 hectares, with some estimates suggesting between 200,000 to 300,000 engravings.
