putuo zongcheng temple

The Putuo Zongcheng Temple, located in Chengde, Hebei, China, is a remarkable example of Qing dynasty architecture. Built between 1767 and 1771 during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor, it is one of the Eight Outer Temples of Chengde, designed as a smaller counterpart to the Potala Palace in Tibet. This temple complex, covering an area of about 220,000 square meters, showcases a fusion of Chinese and Tibetan architectural styles, with many of its halls and pavilions adorned with copper and gold tiled roofs.
