palazzo madama
Palazzo Madama e Casaforte degli Acaja, a historical and architectural complex located in the central Piazza Castello in Turin, is a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the serial Residences of the Royal House of Savoy. The palace hosts the Civic Museum of Ancient Art and is a testament to two thousand years of Turin's history. From its origins as a Roman gate to a defensive stronghold and then a symbol of the Savoy power, the palace has been a witness to the city's evolution. Its current Baroque facade was designed by the court architect Filippo Juvarra in the early 18th century, reflecting the grandeur of its time.
