palazzo della ragione
The Palazzo della Ragione, with its grand hall known as 'il Salone', is a testament to the ingenuity of medieval architecture in Padua, Italy. Erected in 1218, this historic building has served multiple purposes: from a market hall to a town hall and a palace of justice. Its upper floor was once the administrative center for the town and justice, while the ground floor continues to host a traditional market, making it one of the oldest in Europe. The Palazzo is not only a hub of commerce but also a cultural landmark, housing an array of frescoes that depict astrological theories and scenes corresponding to the zodiac, trades, and character traits.
