palazzo carignano
Palazzo Carignano, with its distinctive Baroque architecture, stands as a testament to Italy's rich cultural heritage. Designed by the renowned architect Guarino Guarini, this historical building began construction in 1679 and was once the private residence of the Princes of Carignano. Its unique rounded façade sets it apart from other structures of its time. Notably, it was the birthplace of the first King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II, and served as the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sardinia. Today, it continues to be a symbol of the Italian Risorgimento, housing the museum dedicated to this pivotal period in Italian history.
