orangerie palace
The Orangery Palace, nestled in the lush Sanssouci Park in Potsdam, is a remarkable example of Renaissance Revival architecture. Constructed between 1851 and 1864, it was commissioned by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV, known as the "Romantic on the Throne". The palace's design was inspired by the Italian Renaissance, particularly the Villa Medici in Rome and the Uffizi in Florence, and features a 300-meter-long facade. Today, visitors can admire the grandeur of the Raffael Hall, which houses over fifty copies of Renaissance paintings, and the beautifully detailed allegorical figures representing the months and seasons along the garden side.
