nahal me'arot
The Nahal Me'arot Nature Reserve, also known as the Wadi el-Mughara Caves, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of great importance to the study of human evolution. Located on Mount Carmel near Haifa, this site encompasses four caves that have been instrumental in understanding prehistoric human life. The evidence found within these caves, such as early burials and Paleolithic tools, provides a unique glimpse into the lives of hominins and early humans over a span of 500,000 years.
