museo y sitio de la memoria esma

The ESMA Memory Site Museum stands as a poignant reminder of Argentina's past, located in Buenos Aires on the grounds of the former Navy Mechanics School. This museum serves as a historical monument and a testament to the human rights violations that occurred during the country's last civil-military dictatorship. It preserves the memory of the disappeared and promotes human rights education, fostering a dialogue between past and present generations. Inaugurated in 2015, the museum has maintained the building's original state to serve as judicial evidence, with its content derived from survivor testimonies and historical trials. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
