kosovo
Kosovo's status remains a subject of international debate. Declaring independence from Serbia in 2008, its recognition is divided among global nations. Over half of the United Nations member states recognize Kosovo's independence, including a majority of European Union and NATO members. However, Serbia, with support from allies like Russia and China, does not recognize Kosovo as a sovereign state. Despite this, both Kosovo and Serbia have engaged in dialogue to normalize relations, with agreements in place to not obstruct each other's efforts to join the European Union.
