korean dmz

The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is indeed a significant strip of land, serving as a buffer zone between North and South Korea. Established by the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953, the DMZ spans approximately 250 kilometers in length and 4 kilometers in width, cutting across the Korean Peninsula near the 38th parallel north. This area, while demilitarized itself, is bordered by some of the most heavily fortified territories in the world, symbolizing both division and a hope for peace.
