kofuku ji
Kōfuku-ji is a historic Buddhist temple in Nara, Japan, known for its architectural significance and cultural treasures. Founded in 669, it was associated with the powerful Fujiwara clan and became one of the Seven Great Temples of Nanto. The temple's five-story pagoda, standing at 50 meters, is the second tallest wooden pagoda in Japan and a symbol of Nara. Despite suffering damage over the centuries, Kōfuku-ji has been faithfully restored, including the recent reconstruction of the Central Golden Hall in 2018.
