kaiping diaolou
The Kaiping Diaolou, located in Guangdong, China, are fortified multi-story towers that were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. These structures exhibit a unique blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles, reflecting the rich cultural exchange brought about by the emigration of Kaiping residents during the 19th and 20th centuries. The site encompasses four areas: Sanmenli, Zilicun, Jinjiangli, and Majianglong village clusters, showcasing the historical significance and the architectural ingenuity of the Diaolou.
