janela do capítulo

The 'Janela do Capítulo', or Window of the Chapter House, is indeed a remarkable feature of the Convent of Christ in Tomar, Portugal. This exquisite example of Manueline architecture, sculpted between 1510 and 1513, embodies the spirit of the Age of Discoveries with its intricate motifs of maritime elements and symbols of the Order of Christ. The window's design is attributed to Diogo de Arruda, and its elaborate carvings of ropes, corals, and vegetal motifs celebrate Portugal's seafaring triumphs and discoveries.
