hart plaza
Philip A. Hart Plaza is a vibrant, 14-acre city plaza situated in the heart of downtown Detroit along the scenic Detroit River. Opened in 1975 and named after U.S. Senator Philip Hart, the plaza serves as a hub for public gatherings, cultural events, and festivals. At its center stands the Horace E. Dodge and Son Memorial Fountain, designed by Isamu Noguchi, which is a focal point for visitors and a symbol of the city's revitalization efforts. The plaza also holds historical significance as it is believed to be near the site where Detroit was founded in 1701.
