curutchet house

The Curutchet House in La Plata, Argentina, stands as a testament to Le Corbusier's vision of modern architecture. Commissioned by Dr. Pedro Domingo Curutchet in 1948, this unique structure harmoniously combines a residential space with a medical clinic on the ground floor. Notably, it is one of the few buildings Le Corbusier designed that is attached to pre-existing structures, showcasing his ability to integrate modernist principles with the existing urban fabric. The house is celebrated for its implementation of Le Corbusier's five points of architecture and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
