couvent des jacobins

The Church of the Jacobins in Toulouse stands as a remarkable example of the Southern French Gothic style, known as Gothique méridional. Its construction began in the early 13th century and it has since been a witness to the evolving architectural trends of the period. Notably, it houses the relics of Thomas Aquinas, making it a site of historical and spiritual significance. After serving various purposes post the French Revolution, it underwent significant restoration, transforming part of it into a museum that offers a glimpse into its storied past.
