church of our lady of the rosary
The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary stands as a testament to the rich history of Old Goa. Constructed between 1544 and 1547, it is one of the oldest churches in the region and is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of churches and convents of Goa. The church showcases a blend of Gothic and Manueline architectural styles, reflecting the cultural fusion that characterizes much of Goa's historical structures. It was built under the orders of Afonso de Albuquerque to commemorate the Portuguese victory in Goa and has since been a significant monument in the chronicles of the city's past.
