catedral de tlaxcala
The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, also known as Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl Cathedral, stands as a significant monument in Tlaxcala, Mexico. Constructed in the 16th century, this cathedral is not only a place of worship but also a historical site that reflects the early stages of Spanish colonization in the Americas. Its architecture, featuring a wooden Mudejar-style coffered ceiling, is one of the last of its kind in the American continent. In recognition of its cultural and historical importance, the cathedral was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021.
