The Igreja do Carmo in Porto, Portugal, is a stunning example of Baroque architecture, celebrated for its elaborate side facade adorned with azulejos, the traditional blue and white tiles. These tiles illustrate scenes from the foundation of the Carmelite Order and Mount Carmel, added in 1912 by artist Silvestre Silvestri. The church, alongside its neighboring counterpart, the Igreja dos Carmelitas Descalços, forms a unique historical and architectural complex, separated only by a narrow house, which has intrigued visitors for centuries.
